A new kind of COSTCO experience

So here is the challenge of the day. 4 people, 30 days + or - week...COSTCO run imminent. The good news is no declared vegans in the group. So Chris and I filled 3 carts at COSTCO. But that wasn't half of the battle. We had already made a Home Depot run and a trip to the Marine store so loading those car was like solving a complex 3D puzzle. We made it work, but I bet we looked a bit like the Griswalds packed for vacation.
The tradewinds have picked up and the wind chop waves around the islands are picking up. Small craft advisories are out in many areas. The 96 hour forecast suggests that the tradewinds will diminish starting late Thu/Fri. Nick (photographer from Aspen) will fly in Wed. Thus our earliest departure will be Thursday....but may just run emergency procedures on Thu and wait for the conditions to ease before leaving. While we expect some challenging days, we all agree that we could use a few smooth days on the front to get settled into a rhythm and become familiar with the boat etc.
I worked up a tentative schedule yesterday. The first chore was to set sleep cycles to ensure all had ample time to rest. The next parameter was to ensure a minimum 2-man "on duty" buddy system. I think I will start out on the night shift.
We also had a time on edge this morning. The navigation display system which akso displays the radar and other system data failed to power up. After some time troubleshooting, we managed to get ahold of a RayMarine technician and learned how to do a factory reboot which cleared the problem. That was a relief :-) While we have duplicate systems to include radar and GPS etc, this was our main system.
So, off for the night. I am thinking about Presto our Aussie who is in the hospital with a serious illness. Hope he is feeling better and ready to come home soon.
