They say you will know when it is time to retire. When I boarded the KC-10 and did not recognize any of the crew members, that was one of those moments.
I sat next to a recent graduate of the USAF Academy. He and his buds had 60 days off before reporting to their pilot training base. The anticipation and excitement of going to pilot training returned and I shared some of the exeriences of 25 years ago, What a future he and his buds have in store. I wish them all the best.
I made my way to Maui on Hawaiian Air, arriving within 45 minutes of Chris' flight from Seattle. It couldn't have been better had we planned it.
First night on the boat last night. Had some tuna sushi and rested in the horizontal for the first time since I left DC. Sleeping on the boat is like sleeping on a big water bed that never stops moving. The rolling rocked me to sleep in no time.
Chris recently moved from his apartment back to the boat, so we have a lot of organizing to do before we get underway. Not the least of which is stopping to buy some good coffee and a mount for the BBQ.
I snapped a couple pictures with the cell phone. Tricia will load those up on the page when she gets back from her weekend adventure.
