I'm talking about a natural high

July 1 0300(Z)//June 30 1700: 2920.39N/16001.48W: winds 060 @ 9kts: seas - 2 meter swells: bearing 340 at 6 kts
The steady 15kt winds have diminished as we come under the influence of the high pressure to our north. We have taken up a course to take us around the west of the center of the high in hopes to stay in a comfortable wind band. Continuing due north would put us in the center and in windless conditions. Sailing around to the east would mean a long journey up wind which when combined with the sea swells and wind waves is wet, rocky and uncomfortable. We are keeping in mind that the excitement of this trip is the journey itself. No need to seek out the "E-ticket" ride throughout the trip.
We took advantage of the calmer seas and winds this afternoon - Bathing on the back step, grilling fish dinner (seared in a walnut/apricot crust), some much needed organizing, cleaning, and drying of clothes, sleeping bags etc. Bathing on the back of the boat was a new experience. There are three broad steps that stretch across most of the stern and a wind vane autopilot setup which actually provides good structural bars to hold onto. So there I was wearing my harness and birthday suit sitting on the lowest step waiting patiently for the wave that would send water up over my waist line. Meanwhile, I use a bucket to scoop and pour, suds up a little and then wait again for that invigorating swell of water to wash my sunnyside. Oh what a joy! I followed that with a fresh water chaser once over with a small hose on teh back of the boat.
Gotta run...this blog has been interrupted by a fish on the line. Dom is asleep, so I'll pull in this one. Yahoo!!
